Richard Pridham was originally set up with one of Melanie Frei’s friends, but they ended up dating in secret for weeks.
After being together for two years, Richard hid a custom-made ring they’d designed under the rear set of Melanie’s motorcycle. She stumbled upon it while working on her bike.
They said their vows in front of 75 family members and friends at LaSalle Park in Burlington, Ont. Motorcycles and tulips complimented each other in their lime green and yellow wedding on July 1. The bride even changed the ribbon on her dress to be lime green and embroidered a motorcycle logo onto the dress.
The bride’s favourite moment was when she showed her husband the lime green sneakers under her dress. “His jaw dropped and he said, ‘That is why I married you,’ before pulling me into a bear hug,” says the bride.
Guests signed a caricature of the couple in their motorcycle riding leathers and wedding attire. Another of the bride’s favourite details were the handmade custom figurines of the couple as their cake toppers.
