Kelly has a passion for penguins and Kyle decided that he had to propose by creating a magic moment that involved the birds. He approached the Toronto Zoo, but the penguins were mating, so the timing didn’t work. He quietly checked out zoos when they were visiting Whistler, Italy and Croatia. Finally, the Newport Aquarium in Kentucky came through and, putting his imagination to work, Kyle created a reason to get Kelly there.
They toured the zoo, then were directed to a private room where eight beautiful little African penguins were waiting for them, and, on bended knee, Kyle proposed.
They chose to have their wedding, with 150 guests, at the Whistle Bear Golf and Country Club in Cambridge, Ontario. Kyle says, “Seeing Kelly walk down the aisle brought tears to my eyes. I felt complete joy, knowing that I would spend the rest of my life with my best friend.”
Kelly remembers feeling total happiness, knowing that she was marrying the love of her life, and “being surrounded by all the people I love the most.”
