Jaclyn and Brodie met in third grade and then met again, 15 years later. The groom had arrived at a train station. Later, the bride and her sister arrived at the same station. Fate took a hand when Jaclyn’s sister had to run back to the train to get her purse and the groom’s ride home was delayed.
The couple, each waiting to connect with their relatives, recognized each other, began talking – and became engaged four years later. the wedding: The 220 guests were given small umbrellas for sun-protection during the outdoor service, held in the garden of the family home in Claremont, Ontario. A tented reception followed.
Soprano Alana Scott sang at the service and singer/actress Ashley Bryant sang At Last, accompanied by the six-piece jazz band Saturday Night Function at the reception.
As the evening cooled, pink and cream shawls were provided for all the women. And late in the evening the groom sang a song to his bride that he had composed.
