Cheryl and Jake met on a religious retreat. When it came time to propose, Jake took Cheryl out for a romantic dinner at the same restaurant where they celebrated their first anniversary as a couple. Afterwards, they took a drive to Terrace Beach, near Lake Erie. As the two were walking along the beach, Jake proposed under a full moon and a sky full of stars. How romantic!
The couple’s favourite wedding moment was their first dance as husband and wife. “It was the first moment when we felt it was finally time to party and dance and have a great time,” says Cheryl. “It was also really special because the song that played was the first song Jake and I ever danced to together.”
As for the couple’s favourite wedding detail, that’s an easy one to choose. “The handcrafted Asian outfits from Vietnam were just beautiful, and they had a special meaning to me since it is a part of my culture,” says Cheryl. “All of the colour, the sequence, and the glitter just made us a couple shine.”
