Workout Myths – Busted
1. Crunches Are The Key To Flat Abs: Even though they’re one of the most known abdominal exercises, crunches aren’t necessarily the best way to slim your midsection. While they do tone a small portion of your abs, they don’t burn a lot of calories so they don’t help much with fat loss. It’s more effective to do an exercise that engages your entire core.
2. The More You Sweat, The More You Burn: This doesn’t mean you’ve necessarily burned more calories. It could just be the result of a really warm yoga studio, the weather or your personal physiology.
3. Give Up Carbs And The Pounds Will Melt Away: Carbohydrates are actually your body’s preferred choice of fuel. Eliminating the necessary fibre found in many healthy carbs can result in severe constipation and ruin your body’s natural rhythm. It can also make you feel tired and grumpy, which won’t make you want to run to the gym.
