Emily Houley and Charlie Wheelton were married on June 23, 2012 at the Hamilton Waterfront Conference Center before 168 guests. The wedding’s fishing theme and blue colour scheme were a perfect fit for the couple who got engaged in the pouring rain on a thousand island cruise to a heart shaped island.
It was important to the bride to incorporate her late father, who ran a roofing company for 35 years, into the wedding. She subtly included nails in her bouquet as a tribute and wore a bracelet made by her bridesmaid, which was attached by nails.
Emily says she knew walking down the aisle with her nephew would be a tear-jerker, so she decided to dance instead.
“The entire wedding party and I danced. It was a great way to make a sad moment happy,” she says.
