Will and Grace met back in 2001 where they worked together at the Air Canada Centre. They started out as friends and remained in and out of touch throughout the years. It wasn’t until 2008 that they reconnected. Will asked Grace out to a Jason Mraz concert and the rest is history.
When it came time to propose, Will came up with an elaborate story that his mom “won” tickets from a radio station to see a concert at Massey Hall (where the couple had their first date). Will wanted Grace to pick up the tickets as it’s not far from her work. Will also called Grace to say that he was going to meet her in front of the concert theatre.
As Grace arrived at Massey Hall (Will of course was there first), Will informed her that in addition to the tickets they had also won a private tour of Massey Hall. The hall was completely empty; it was just Grace, Will and a man named Douglass who was the couple’s “tour guide”. Douglass showed them the concert hall from top to bottom, backstage, balcony, everything. And it wasn’t until Douglas took the couple on stage that Douglass noticed that Will had his guitar with him and asked Will if he could hear him play. Will began to play and a song by Train called “Marry Me”. As soon as his performance was over Grace went up on stage with him where he then bent down on one knee and proposed.
All the while Will and Grace’s parents were outside Massey Hall waiting for the couple to come out with flowers and cameras ready in hand, ready to celebrate!
One of the bride’s favourite moments was when her father saw her for the first time as a bride. Much like my groom, the bride’s father had no idea what her dress looked like. “Seeing the look on my dad’s face when he walked into my room is a moment I will cherish forever,” says the bride. “It was truly the most touching bittersweet father/daughter moment that will live in my heart forever.”
One of the couple’s favourite wedding details included seeing the same-day wedding video accompanied with pictures taken throughout the day by
their photographers. “People love to see themselves on the screen and for those that missed the
earlier festivities it provided the opportunity to experience the entire day,” says Grace. “Showcasing all the special moments was not only entertaining for our
guests, but is one detail that leaves a lasting impression.”
