Caryn and Tony met online initially, and upon meeting, realized they had a number of mutual friends in common as they both worked in sales and marketing. Tony proposed on a trip to South Africa, at a resort near the Kruger National Park where Caryn visited every year growing up in South Africa. “It meant so much that we were engaged at a place that holds such a special place in my heart,” says Caryn.
The couple’s favourite wedding moment was the first look between Caryn and Tony – it was the only moment in the day they were truly alone. “We took this moment to catch up on how each other’s mornings had gone and as we always do, joke around,” says the bride. “It was also nice to be able to take a few breaths and let it all sink in before our guests arrived and the ceremony began.”
As for the couple’s favourite wedding detail, it had to be the tribute to Caryn’s hometown of South Africa. “On some of the shelves in the barn we included photos we had taken from our trip the year prior, as well as beautiful protea flowers, which are indigenous to South Africa added by our wonderful florist,” says the bride.
