It was a day filled with rustic elegance when Marlena and Jamie said “I do” in front of 125 guests at Le Grand Lodge Mont-Tremblant in Mont-Tremblant, Quebec. Their big day was a celebration of great family and great fun.
Marlena and Jamie met taking care of patients at the Jewish General Hospital where they both work. There had always been a spark between them, notes Marlena, and they consider themselves lucky to have found one another.
In September of 2012, Jamie took Marlena for a romantic dinner at a very special restaurant. Marlena was sure he was going to propose but when dinner was finished and there was still no ring, Marlena was disappointed. As it turns out, Jamie had booked a hotel room and proposed, that same night, on the balcony under a full moon.
The couple’s favourite wedding moment was their unity sand tradition during the ceremony. “Since Jamie has three children from a previous marriage, we wanted to do something to unite the new family,” says Marlena.
The newlyweds say that their best wedding decision ever was offering the late night poutine station. Marlena, who pushed for the idea, notes that all of their guests were gushing over how great an idea it was.
