Edward and Katrina met in 2007 at Humber College. The two would occasionally say hi to each other in passing, Edward would make sure to shower Katrina with compliments, but they never exchanged numbers. In 2009, Edward found Katrina through social media and they began to communicate. Once Katrina gave Edward her number, the two started off as friends. Then once they got to know each other better, they decided to take their relationship to the next level. The rest was history.
On November 3, 2012 Edward proposed to Katrina, with the help of their friends Besy, Nico, Paul, Hannah and Kevin. When Katrina woke up that morning she was greeted by Nico with a bouquet of flowers. His instructed her to go to the “J” building. Besy was on look-out duty, relaying Katrina’s every move to Edward. Once Katrina arrived at the library, Paul was waiting with another bouquet of flowers. Paul told Katrina to watch a video on Edward’s laptop. The video was a memory montage of all the moments they shared together. The video ended with a message “I’m waiting outside”. Katrina was waiting at the entrance not knowing that her sister, Hannah, was capturing her every move. A car pulled up in front of her, blasting the song ‘Endless Love’ and that’s when Kevin stepped out. He then opened the trunk, and Edward climbed out. It was then that Edward looked at her and said “Will you marry me?” Katrina was speechless. He bent down on his knees and asked again, while giving his best smile. She picked him up and whispered “yes”.
One of the couple’s favourite moments was their dance number. “This was the moment Edward and I had the chance to relax, have fun and be ourselves,” says Katrina.
And as for the couple’s favourite wedding detail, their wedding cake stands out. “Our gold and ivory coloured cake was impeccably well done, and it really reflected our personalities.
