Surrounded by their family and friends, Kelly and Paul tied the knot with love and laughter on an enchanted winter day on December 29, 2012 in Toronto, Ontario.
Kelly and Paul met through mutual friends, and although their mutual friends had known them forever, it was only during a memorial service that their matchmaker came up with the bright idea. They first met at Starbucks over coffee on an August afternoon, and ten months later they were engaged.
Paul proposed after a long night of babysitting. “We took a drive to the Lakeshore afterwards where he asked for my hand in marriage, and I immediately said yes,” says Kelly. “I told him to get up as to not dirty his pants on the lawn.”
On the morning of their wedding the bride and groom had a downfall of snow, but much to their chagrin, Mother Nature’s actions made for a beautiful backdrop. With that, the couple’s favourite wedding moment happened after the ceremony, when they drove north to The Vaughan Cultural Centre and took several pictures outdoors. “We stood out in the cold while the bridal party took shelter in the limousine,” says Kelly. “All the while, our photographer was clicking away, and a shot from this session ended up on as our thank you card.”
The couple’s favourite wedding detail was their party favour. Theirs being a wedding during the holiday season, the newlyweds decided to gift their guests a box of flavoured sugar packets – perfect for entertaining. “Our guests are still talking about our party favours; it was such an original idea,” says Kelly.
