Samantha and Warren met in law school, two self-described nerdy students both working on the Law Review. A blossoming friendship soon revealed shared love of adventure, art, and travel, and their friendship turned into a relationship.
Warren proposed midweek in February, at home as they were getting ready to leave for dinner at the restaurant where they had their first date. “He got down on one knee, and trembling, asked if I would marry him,” says the bride.
The couple was married on May 26 before 250 people at Corus Entertainment in Toronto. The colour theme was white, green and grey. “Our favours were boxes full of my mother-in-law’s amazing caramel popcorn, with labels I designed and my favourite green chevron print ribbon – I loved those,” says Samantha.
The ketubah signing was especially memorable as it involved a small group of family, including the bride’s 99-year-old grandfather and her 98-year-old grandmother. And according to the bride and groom, the band was also incredible. “The dance floor was packed all night, and for weeks afterwards our guests were commenting on how much fun they had,” says Samantha.
