Real Canadian Weddings Submission – FAQ
1. How do I submit my wedding for consideration?
The easiest thing to do is to send your gallery link to our editor at submissions@todaysbride.ca. Then we can go from there!
2. Who can submit a wedding to be featured by todaysbride.ca and/or Today’s Bride magazine?
We accept submissions from photographers, planners, and recently married Canadian couples. If you are a photographer submitting, please ensure that you have the couple’s approval. If you are a couple submitting, please ensure that you have the photographer’s approval.The photography must be outstanding in order to be selected for publication.
3. Can I submit a wedding even if it has already been featured elsewhere?
We prefer to have first dibs on the big day. This means that if a competing publication or blog has featured the wedding or shoot, we will most likely pass on it. The photographer’s/planner’s blog does not count. We ask for 30 days’ exclusivity for online features, and 6 months’ exclusivity for anything in print (basically, as long as we are on newsstand).
4. What kind of details did you want from the images?
We love to feature Canadian couples with inspirational celebrations. Fashion, accessories, shoes, cakes, bouquets, favours, hairstyles, reception decor, shots of the couple and the wedding party – the more images you can give us the more we can use. Wedding submissions should have a strong theme or motif and great images. The more well-answered your questionnaire is, the better.
5. How many images should I send?
Send the link to the photographer’s gallery, ideally. Then we can download what we want. Otherwise, send 50-100 images via dropbox. Do not send as email attachments. We need all kinds of detail images, and fewer images of the actual couple.
6. Will I be in the magazine?
Our print magazine, which comes out twice a year in January and July, features several real weddings each issue. When you submit your real wedding, you are submitting both for online and print. If you wish to be in print ONLY please indicate that in your submission form. While we only select very few for print, our website is amazing and we would love to include your wedding there. It will also be featured in our e-newsletter and social media.
