Next up in our series of unique destination wedding locations beyond the Caribbean and the beach is Sarah & Sherif’s “I do’s” in Saskatchewan. Their magical outdoor ceremony included a blending of cultures amidst the stunning natural beauty of Greenwater Lake Provincial Park. When deciding on a magical location to marry the man of her dreams, Sarah knew instantly that she wanted to marry at the park, the same place where her parents married 35 years prior. “It’s a sentimental location full of family memories,” she says.
THE SIMPLE THINGS:
The Toronto couple wanted their wedding to be “elegant and simple,” with a white and green colour palette that spoke volumes. Their florist, Blossoms Florals, used white roses, ranunculus and gorgeous greenery in bouquets, canopies and centrepieces to achieve the sweetest of settings.
TWO BECOME ONE:
“Sharing Canadian family history with my husband’s immigrant family was so special,” says Sarah. “Everyone danced to polka and Egyptian music, and at one point, they put Sherif and I on chairs and hoisted us up in the air! Everyone partied until they kicked us off the dance floor.”
THE LOOK & FOOD:
Sarah wore an ivory Maudie by Willowby gown from Sash & Bustle with a lace bodice and flowy skirt, topped with a white Jasmine Bridal veil via Etsy. The couple’s 70 guests dined on Peppercorn Roast Beef and Chicken à la Grecque, followed by a midnight pierogi bar with all the fixins.
