Kyle and Renee were married on October 27 at the Ancaster Christian Reformed Church in Ancaster, Ontario. A reception for their 150 guests followed at the Waterfront Banquet Centre in Hamilton. Their special day was a long time coming. The couple met grade 9 but started dating after they graduated when friends set them up. Four years later, Kyle proposed in the perfect way – with their family watching and recording it from the window! “He slipped me a note that said ‘I love you’ on one side and ‘forever and always’ on the other,” says the bride. When she turned around he was on one knee.
Less than a year later, Renee’s mother walked her down the aisle and gave her away to her husband. “We have been through a hard few years and having her walk me down the aisle meant the world to me,” says Renee. “I also loved having our photos taken at my husband’s farm. He lived there his whole life and it is very special to have those photos that are connected to all the great memories we have of the farm.”
Other favourite details include handmade table numbers and bridesmaid accessories from LOVELINX Jewellery Design, where Renee works. The favours were thoughtful: handmade luggage tags and a donation to the Alzheimer’s Society.
