Reid Fiest and Cody Parrish
These grooms exchanged vows in front of 60 guests at Gannon’s Restaurant in the beautiful resort community of Wailea, Maui in Hawaii.
Pre-wedding visit: The couple was lucky to find a travel deal prior to the wedding and made a 5-day trip to do some wedding scouting. “That pre-visit was very valuable to confirm we made great decisions, removed some uncertainty and eased nerves on the big day,” says Reid.
What a sight:
Guests were treated to quite a show. Not only did they watch Reid and Cody exchange vows under the palm trees, but they were also able to spot whales breaching the ocean’s surface in the background.
Perfect stay:
Guests stayed at the Palms at Wailea by Outrigger, but Reid says he and Cody treated themselves to a stay at the Fairmont Kea Lani. “The resort is second to none. The hotel staff upgraded us to an oceanview suite. We really enjoyed the time for us to soak in our day. It was the perfect place to take beach and pre-wedding photos. We also didn’t have to pay for limos for the wedding day, as the Fairmont offers complimentary Cadillac Escalade transportation for guests.”
Advice to couples:
“Do your research,” says Reid. “We didn’t think we could afford a Hawaiian wedding, but by sourcing inexpensive supplies and vendors, we had a dream Hawaiian wedding on a budget.”
