Heidi and Jared met in Grade 9 at Northwestern Secondary School in Stratford eight years ago and have been together ever since. They had a long distance relationship for four years while Jared travelled to Europe to work. They travelled to Prince Edward Island together during Jared’s last year of culinary school and he proposed during a Saturday morning picnic breakfast overlooking the ocean.
The couple was married on September 8 at Knox North Easthope Presbyterian Church in Stratford, Ont., before 75 guests. A reception followed at Pazzo Ristorante. “Our favourite part of our wedding was the lover’s table which was only for us,” says the bride. “It was intimate and we could just talk about the morning ceremony and our feelings about each other and the gorgeous day.” They also loved their photo shoot on the bride’s parents’ farm with the Holstein dairy cows. The evening portion of our day was wonderful when we invited our neighbours and friends to join us in Jared’s parents’ backyard for a relaxed and casual pizza party, complete with a wood-fired pizza oven. They also loved the bagpiper who played at the church in the countryside and the pizza oven in our backyard reception.
