Christa and Brent met about six years ago when Brent’s sister moved to Moncton, N.B., to work for the summer and be closer to her two brothers. She got a job working at the same restaurant as Christa and the two girls became instant friends. She introduced Christa to her brother, who from then on was known as “her hot brother”. Still, nearly a year passed before anything happened between them. Then one day, sparks flew. “We were at the same get together and while I was bent down tying my shoe, he bent down next to me and kissed me,” says the bride. Brent’s sister came in and he walked away with a grin on his face. “That took him long enough,” Brent’s sister told the future bride. Brent’s proposal came as a complete surprise as they went for a walk on the family golf course in Mundleville on December 2. They were married on the course on June 16 before 190 guests. It was the first wedding to take place there and was a total success!
Their favourite moment came when the whole wedding party held up golf clubs to form an arch for our entrance into reception tent. They danced in to the song “Party Rock Anthem” and had the whole place on their feet!
Golf was the theme of the wedding. Even the bridesmaids rode into the ceremony on golf carts and the food featured a build-your-own-burger option, BBQ Chicken, potato salad, and coleslaw. Even their gluten-free cakes from Nicos Bakery were unique. The wedding party had vanilla pound cake with Bailey’s filling while the guests had chocolate with mocha filling. The cake topper was a replica of the bride and groom (golf club in hand) and their Scottish terrier Maggie made by the bride’s brother in law. The DJ and band kept the crowd dancing all night.
