You probably don’t want a
cookie-cutter wedding. Your
friends love you for your
personality and your sense
of fun. This should shine
through on your wedding
day.
For instance, after the
service, create a parade-like
atmosphere with flags and
banners.
If you’re passionate about
your pooch, put him in a
bow tie and let him march
down the aisle. Incorporate
your love of nature into the
wedding with themed seating
cards.
Show your sense of oldworld
style with a vintage
dress, or play with cool
accessories like a wreath in
your hair.
No matter what you
choose, think outside the
box.
Make an entrance
Anyone can arrive at their reception by car! Why not park
that idea and opt for something more interesting? Your
guests will applaud when you arrive by boat, in your truck, or
on a bicycle built for two. If you like life in the fast lane, why
not show up on a motorcycle? If you love tradition, arrive in
a horse-and-carriage. Make the moment memorable – and
delight your guests.
Then get ready to party
There are a host of ways to surprise your guests. What you
choose will reflect you and your groom’s personalities.
- Got a sweet tooth? Have a help-yourself candy bar with
candies that you remember from your childhood. Perhaps
include personalized M & Ms. - Rent a photobooth that prints pictures on the spot.
- Having a garden wedding? Give your guests small pots of
herbs or bulbs in a box. - Give each table a name that refers to your relationship. (First
Fight, Just a Handshake, I Love You, Here’s Competition!)
Each table, after discussion, can nominate one person to
go to the mike and invent their version about what may
have happened relating to the name of their table. - Challenge every table to get up and sing a love song. Vote
on the best and present them with a bottle of champagne. - Celebrate your favourite sport. If you’re a golfer, set up a
long mat and have a putting contest. Of course, winner gets
a prize.
