Jackie and John Coombs’ fateful first meeting was under a bridge during the first year of university. Two years later, they took their friendship to the romantic level. Cottage trips were a classic way for the couple to unwind and it was only fitting that John got down on one knee on a raft in the middle of the lake.
Guests basked in the old world charm of the Old Mill Inn in Toronto with fanciful ivory, pewter and blush-coloured embellishments. The couple shared their special day with 160 guests on June 22.
John reunited with his high school band to play a set during the reception, which was the bride’s favourite moment. “It was so special to have all of our friends and family experience his music and see what an amazingly talented musician he is,” she says.
