Put regular wrapping paper aside and experiment with an old Japanese tradition – Furoshiki! Before plastic bags and leather satchels, the Japanese would create makeshift bags out of cloth to carry food, clothing and other goods. In modern day, the art of Furoshiki is now used as a new and different way to wrap gifts – not only will your gift stand out amongst the crowd of others, but by using a colorful scarf or cloth, you will be giving the recipient two gifts. Furoshiki nowadays is simply a fancy name for wrapping your gift in cloth instead of paper, so go ahead and try it.
