Sometimes we forget about the breathtaking beauty that is right in our Canadian backyard. Farin Samnani and Sherif Guirgis exchanged vows at Chateau Lake Louise, with a reception for 210 guests following at Banff Whyte Museum – and it couldn’t have been prettier. Here’s how the bride describes the day.
The Location
Our natural wedding backdrop was so scenic and spectacular. The sky blue, glacier-fed lake surrounded by high peaks, clear skies, overlooked by the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise really gave our wedding ceremony that majestic, fairy tale feeling.
Advice for Brides
You need to be organized to plan a destination wedding! Start packing three weeks before the big day. This is one time in your life when packing too much actually comes in handy.
Overall Feeling
Our wedding was filled with laughter, gorgeous natural lake and mountain scenery, and so many emotional moments. It was such a wonderful relief to be able to finally unwind with all our guests at the reception, and realize that we had all of our loved ones with us living out this fairy tale moment!
What You Would Change
It was such a hot day, I wish I had brought a second dress to change into prior to the reception so that I could have been more comfortable and carefree!
Favourite Parts of the Day
We wanted a lively and fun outdoor party in a comfortable venue that would allow guests to enjoy the warm summer weather. We wanted our friends and family to feel like they were dancing under the stars, enjoying the breezy summer air and surrounded by beautiful flowers. Walking into the clear-top tent and seeing our vision come to life was a magical moment. All of the details we had been working on for an entire year came together more beautifully than we imagined.
