All options start with the hair style. Long, full hair invites simple flowers because the hair, itself, is front and centre. Hair in a sophisticated updo or pulled back into a chignon, however, requires more glamour and more jewelled options.
Fresh flowers
If your hair is pulled back, you might tuck one large single flower, such as a lily or orchid, at the nape of the neck. Alternately you can group smaller flowers, such as tiny rosebuds or daisies. These are good choices because they last for a long time outside of water. Fresh flowers also can be tucked in at the top of the head when hair is in an updo and these work well with a veil.
Faux flowers
A large fabric flower can be glamorous, especially when brilliant crystals emphasize the flower centre and outside rim of each petal. This is effective when the hair is pulled back and perhaps tucked into a chignon.
Feathers
Feathers never go out of style and make a graceful addition, creating slight movement. Long feathers also give height as well as drama.
Tiaras
For many brides, the tiara is the obvious choice because it makes her feel like a queen. Tiaras work well with veils and, at the reception, the veil can be removed and the tiara looks lovely on its own.
Jewellery
A sparkling necklace can be pinned to the hair and used as a headband. Jewelled clips can be tucked into the hair, as can jewelled combs.
