Modern and classic are the words used to describe Melissa and David’s wedding day, celebrated with 150 guests at the Bayview Golf and Country Club in Toronto, Ontario.
Melissa and David met on Twitter, and it was love at first tweet. Innocent tweeting back and forth turned into daily conversations, and after a few months Melissa suggested they meet for drink. David suggested they have dinner instead, and when they finally met in person it was as though they’d known each other for years.
Their relationship quickly blossomed and after three years of dating, David was ready to propose. By hacking into Melissa’s blog with the help of a friend, David created a “click here” button that once clicked turned into a collage of Melissa and David’s favourite memories that ended with a picture of their puppy and the words, “I can haz hand in marriage?” Melissa notes it was perfect.
The couple’s favourite wedding moment was their “first glimpse” of each other. “The moment we set eyes on each other I couldn’t help but swell up in tears,” says Melissa. “It felt so real in that moment, he was perfect, and i never felt so lucky in my life.”
Since both the bride and groom work in advertising, they both have a strong appreciation for design and so they wanted every detail in their wedding to have a consistent branding – everything from the invitations to the thank you cards. “It seems like such a little detail but it’s one that I definitely noticed and made every piece of our big day come together in such a complimentary way,” says Melissa.
