Roslyn and Dan chose Cambium Farms for their wedding. It is just a 45-minute drive from Toronto but a world away in atmosphere. It seems to turn back the clock to a long-ago era, and gave the couple a blank canvas to create their own wedding in their own way. The wedding brought a grandmother, Ardith, on a flight from Winnipeg, even though she is 104 years old!
Roslyn’s mother made the wedding cake and all the sweets. A highlight for everyone: Roslyn’s father played a cut from a home movie he had made when Roslyn was just six years old. She spelled out her exact vision of the wedding she would have when she was a grownup. She said, “The groom will have brown hair, blue eyes and we will get married, in summer, at a ranch at the same time I was born.” It came remarkably close to the actual wedding!
At the reception, everyone came together to celebrate. Roslyn and Dan are always the first ones on a dance floor so having a big stompin’ dance floor was key for them. Music, dancing, laughter and love filled the space late into the night. As Dan says, “What a blast!” On their honeymoon, they ventured on a backcountry canoe trip in Killarney, Ont.
