Stephanie & Paul
The original plan was a church wedding, followed by a reception for 130 guests, but things had to change. Here, Stephanie discusses how they postponed, pivoted and still had a beautiful day.
“Originally, Paul and I were planning a traditional church wedding followed by a reception in the Sovereign Ballroom at The Omni King Edward Hotel. We fell in love with the venue immediately as it exuded both glamour and elegance.
When the unthinkable occurred in March of 2020, we were devastated to learn that our June wedding would be impacted by the pandemic. Together with our extraordinary wedding planner, we decided to postpone our wedding to September of the same year.
As September was quickly approaching and government restrictions prohibited large indoor weddings, we decided to pivot and move ahead with an intimate, outdoor wedding. Our wedding planner worked tirelessly to fulfil our every wish and my fiancé and I were excited again that our dream wedding was going to become a reality.
Graydon Hall Manor, with it’s stone terrace overlooking beautiful fountains and formal gardens became the setting for our fourteen-guest wedding ceremony and reception. We were in awe of the canopy and chandeliers erected over the stunning dining space.
An abundance of flowers, candles and soft live music created the most romantic and intimate ambiance for our celebration. From signature cocktails, dinner on the terrace and our first dance under the stars, our wedding day was absolutely perfect and exceeded our expectations.
With the unprecedented challenges of 2020, we would highly recommend hiring a wedding planner for their guidance and expertise. We are grateful we did!”
