Jayna and Keith Adair celebrated their love with 150 of their family and friends on July 13, 2013 at the Waterton Lakes National Park in Alberta.
The couple met at a rodeo in town, but didn’t see each other again until about five years later. They ran into each other again in Beaver Mines at Jayna’s mother’s restaurant. Keith asked for Jayna’s phone number and they continued to chat on the phone, and from that moment on they were inseparable.
One night as Jayna was home making dinner, Keith came home from work so quietly that Jayna hadn’t realized he was there until she turned around and saw him on bended knee. Without words, Keith slipped the ring onto Jayna’s finger and she got down on her knees to hug him. They were instantly engaged. Jayna recalls it as the most simple and romantic moment the two had ever shared.
The couple’s favourite wedding moment was from their ceremony, which included a traditional hand-tying ritual. Jayna and Keith wrote 12 (very emotional) vows for each other, one for each loop of ribbon made around their wrists. “We had to stop numerous times to regain composure and wipe away our tears, our vows were that special,” says Jayna.
Keith recalls that the couple’s favourite wedding detail was the handmade altar, made by his brother. “It was an awesome addition to our nature-inspired theme,” says Keith.
