When it comes to your wedding décor, it is important to have some inspiration. Maybe it’s just a feeling or colour, or something more specific, like a movie that you love, or a song that speaks to you. In the case of this styled shoot, the planners looked to art.
Stephanie Miaco, owner and lead planner at YESinspired Events says, “For this shoot, we wanted to create something that was fun, but that also did not follow a pattern or a specific trend. We incorporated colours that I wouldn’t normally use together – a mix of dark and light tones – and strayed away from ‘colour guidelines’ and just went with the flow. We specifically chose an art gallery to incorporate art work by local artists as originally the idea for the shoot came from a series of paintings by Helen Frankenthaler, Yayoi Kusama & Agnes Martin.
We placed the tablescape in front of Sydney Millet’s paintings, which set the tone for the rest of the shoot. We really wanted it to be like you were dining in a garden gallery. While planning the design, her paintings were the main inspiration.”
