Erin and Robert met when Erin drove Robert home from a mutual friend’s house and he asked for a date. Six years later, they were married at Four Seasons in Toronto.
The 175 guests sat in a circle around the couple as the service incorporated traditions from both families. The candle lighting ceremony was followed by the breaking of the glass as the guests cheered “Mazel Tov”.
The centrepieces incorporated a crystal globe lit with a candle and surrounded by deer antlers on a gold wreath of sticks. Gold and silver miniature vases with white roses, lavender and black berries were placed in front of each placesetting.
The menu included a trio of the couple’s favourite appetizers: tuna tartar, lobster bisque and duck carpaccio. Homemade smores on sticks were a labour of love, tucked in a gold-tiered masterpiece resembling a cake, ready for guests to take home. After dinner, Hava nagila kicked off the evening and the couple was hoisted on chairs above the crowd. Everybody joined the dancing for the rest of the evening.
