Kristen and Paul, both firefighters, met three years ago in Timmins, Ont., while fighting forest fires.
They exchanged vows at the Paroisse St-Joseph and had their reception at Cedar Meadows Resort and Spa in Timmins. Approximately 100 people attended the wedding, which blended French and English to make both families feel welcome. The couple wanted their wedding to be fun and reflect their love of nature and the outdoors. Even the groom helped select branches to make the decorations and centrepieces! Each out-of-town guest who stayed at the resort received a basket filled with homemade cookies, wine and goodies assembled by the couple. The nourishment was much needed after a fun night of dancing.
