This region of the world has, over millennia, become a geological masterpiece. Try rafting so you can navigate some of the wildest rivers in the U.S. in one of three ways: inn-toinn, multi-sport adventure or a sampler of overnight all-inclusive camping. The waterful choices are rivers in Oregon and Utah.
Oregon’s Rogue River, near Medford, is one option. This is so remote that boats deliver the mail in areas where the river is the only road. You will certainly site otter, deer and black bear.
Three- and four-day whitewater trips include overnights at riverside lodges where dinner and breakfast are served. The per-person double rate is from $959.
The Southwest Sampler has two nights at Moab at a trendy inn with offroad Hummer safaris with the final two days rafting. This trip allows guests to sample a single night under the stars and to dine in an extraordinary setting. The four-day experience per-person double rate is from $615.
Moab, Utah offers still another experience with a safari on a trail known as “Hell’s Revenge” and includes one of the best short whitewater trips in the west through Westwater Canyon.
This experience includes three nights at Red Cliffs Lodge on the banks of the Colorado River. The per-person double rate is $675.
The rafting experience is seasonal and operates from March through to October.
