Silly string, confetti and cardboard cutouts of Ellen Degeneres, Zac Efron and RuPaul. Seems like the recipe for a good time.
Grant Minkhorst and Miguel Llabres Riera tied the knot infront of 125 guests at Toronto’s Steam Whistle Brewery. Here’s what they had to say.
Favourite part: “With our best friends at our sides (our moms), we
experienced this incredible, overwhelming love,” says Grant. “It’s like
the entire room was drenched in happiness.”
What went wrong: If one thing’s for sure, kids are unpredictable. The flower boy and girl got sick on the way to the wedding, but Miguel and Grant took a photo with them once they’d recovered.
Unique details: Drag show! Grant surprised Miguel with one of their favourite contestants, Jujubee, from RuPaul’s Drag Race. Grant spent a year ironing out the details and after the big reveal, “It was everything and more!” says Grant. “Jujubee had three outfit changes, chatted with everyone and partied with us all night.”
What you’d change: “More confetti, more balloons and more drag queens,” says Miguel.
Honeymoon: The newlyweds spent three weeks island-hopping in Indonesia, from Bali to the Gili Islands and then to Komodo Island.
