Cassidy (from Ottawa) and Dayna (from Alaska) met at the University of Vermont while playing varsity hockey. Eight years later, Dayna proposed at her family cottage, and a few months later, Cassidy proposed right back!
Arm in arm: From the vows onwards, the brides never left each other’s sides – from mingling to toasting to dancing.
Flower power: The brides wanted the florals to be a big focal point. Cassidy says, “From baby’s breath overflowing over the edges of the guest tables, to large baby’s breath arrangements on the bar top and round tables, to a lush aisle filled with baby’s breath, quicksand roses, and playa blanca roses, to a statement arbour behind us at the ceremony, we wanted the florals to stand out, and we think they did just that! It was a true fairy tale!”
Party time: “Through recapping the wedding with friends and family, it was unanimous what our guests seemed to remember most,” says Cassidy. Once the dancefloor opened up, the brides and the bridal party surprised the guests and ran onto the dancefloor wearing light-up neon white cowboy hats. “The DJ played ‘Man! I Feel Like a Woman!’ as we all ran out handing out a hat to each of our guests. It brought everyone to the dancefloor – in an instant the party really came to life.”
Honeymoon: The newlyweds spent three weeks in Greece and Spain.
