Dreams of visiting Turks and Caicos Islands are now a reality for Canadians as there are direct flights year-round. In the high season, Air Canada provides eight direct, nonstop flights per week – five flights from Toronto,one from Ottawa, one from Montreal and, new this year, one from Halifax. Air Canada Vacations offers 16 resort packages. Saturday and Sunday flights operate year round from Toronto.
WestJet offers four nonstop flights a week from Toronto to Providenciales during high season and Saturday and Monday flights year-round. Westjet Vacations offers packages with 10 resorts.
What to do
Destination weddings are offered by all resorts, and especially popular at those along the 12-mile Grace Bay Beach. The 240 miles of coral reef present opportunities for amazing water sports.
On land: golf, play tennis, go horseback riding or visit the Grand Prix go-kart track. Duty-free shopping has expanded recently.
Where to dine
In the evenings there are pub nights, movie nights, beach barbecues and supper clubs. The Casablanca Casino hosts a number of tournaments, along with an array of slot machines and tables.
