Sean and Tiffany met online through Plenty of Fish. “Sean messaged me a year after I joined and we hit it off from the start! After our second date, I deleted my account; in my heart I knew he was the one,” says Tiffany.
Their relationship accelerated quickly and after a year and a half, they took a trip to Ireland. Sean completely shocked his love on the second last day of their vacation. “In the little town of Howth, in the most picturesque surrounding, he told me he couldn’t imagine his life without me and asked me to marry him,” says the bride.
The couple was married on August 18 at White Oaks Resort and Spa at Niagara-on-the-Lake before 230 guests. “I loved our entire wedding, but my favourite moment but had to be the ceremony and seeing Sean from the top of the stairs. He looked so nervous but excited at the same time and it calmed my nerves knowing he was feeling the same as me.”
The bride’s cousin and a close friend sang and played L.O.V.E by Nat King Cole as she walked down the stairs/aisle. The couple recited their own vows in front of family and friends. “It still gives me goose bumps every time I think about it.”
During the planning of their wedding, the couple tried to incorporate their love of baseball and travelling into the theme. They had a home plate that they stood in front of during the ceremony. The table numbers were written on sunflower seed packages, the table numbers were baseballs and the guest favours were Cracker Jack boxes. To incorporate their families into the celebration, they had mini cupcakes as their cake where they displayed pictures of their parents cutting their wedding cakes. The kids received crayons and colouring books to keep busy during speeches. They even had flags from the countries of guests who traveled to Canada to be there for their special day.
Other highlights: Food stations with make your own salads and pasta, live roast beef carver and more desserts than you could ask for! Their band and DJ kept the crowd dancing until 2:00 am. “My brother emceed and really was entertaining,” says the bride. “He got our guests to do the 7th inning stretch, created a live flickr account that guests so guests could upload their photos during the wedding and performed a live Michael Jackson skit just for us.”
They also had a photo booth that doubled as their guest book. “Everyone loved it and we had to extend it for another 2 hours!”
