Shermarn and Peter’s summer wedding was a love-filled celebration with a dash of modern elegance that left everyone swooning. These two met at university eight years ago and despite coming from different countries, they built a beautiful life together in Vancouver. On June 1, 2024, family and friends from around the globe gathered at the Fort Langley Golf Course in Langley, BC to celebrate their love story — and wow, what a day it was.
Flowers that embodied summer perfection
This ethereal wedding was a true celebration of the season, with floral pillars that framed the altar in enchanting bursts of colour. These tall, garden-inspired arrangements were designed to feel organic yet intentional, overflowing with soft, summery hues that seemed to blend seamlessly with the natural surroundings.
Pops of lavender, blush pink, creamy peach, and vibrant pinks intermingled with lush greenery, creating a dreamy, whimsical backdrop as Shermarn and Peter exchanged their vows. Each bloom felt carefully chosen to evoke a sense of romance and freshness, capturing the essence of a summer wedding. At the reception, the floral vibe shifted to something more minimalist yet chic, with single-stem bud vases placed on tables, adding a refined elegance that perfectly balanced the ceremony’s bold, lush aesthetic.
Unique details that wowed guests
Let’s talk about the details. Bespoke Decor didn’t just create stationery—they crafted an experience. From a custom wedding sign with fresh blooms to a sleek shelf seating chart, every touch felt intentional and chic. And the LED sign they sourced through Steveston Creative gave the space that extra pop of personality, making this summertime wedding feel totally one of a kind.
Fashion that turned heads
Shermarn’s bridal look was simply unforgettable. She wore a stunning dress by Aesling Bride (the Crystal dress) and a romantic bolero by Laudae Bridal (the Collins bolero), designed and made locally in Vancouver. It fit the modern vibe of the day perfectly. Light, flowy, and effortlessly elegant, it felt like the dress for a summer wedding. Peter held his own in a dapper suit that paired flawlessly with Shermarn’s timeless style.
Cakes with a statement
Why have one cake when you can have three? Shermarn and Peter’s summer wedding featured a trio of statement cakes, each with its own look and unique flavour. These weren’t just desserts—they were edible masterpieces that tasted just as good as they looked. Guests couldn’t get enough.
A day filled with love
Beyond the decor and fashion, the shared moments made this summer wedding memorable. Guests were treated to heartfelt speeches from parents and friends, bringing tears, laughter, and so much love into the room. Shermarn and Peter created a relaxed, joyful atmosphere and completely focused on what mattered most: their love and the people who came to celebrate it.
