Allison didn’t have high expectations after connecting with Gregor on Hinge, showing up to their first date in an old T-shirt with holes in it. But as the couple has since shown, the unexpected can lead to happily ever after – a journey that culminated in their June 2025 wedding. Surrounded by about 150 friends and family, they exchanged vows on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, at the same lodge where a young Allison once watched a wedding ceremony that sparked her own dreams of a fairytale celebration.
Out-of-towners: With the nearest airport two and a half hours away, attending the wedding was no small feat for guests. “Having so many of the people in our lives up in a remote area that holds such significance was really surreal,” said Allison and Gregor.

Photo op: The day after the wedding, the couple and their photographer set out on a short sunset hike to make up for photos missed during the busy wedding morning. Even without makeup or styled hair, Allison says the results were unforgettable. “Had things gone as planned, we would not have been greeted with the most stunning sunset on an empty trail – it was pure magic.”
