When a love story begins on a rainy night in the British Virgin Islands, it’s only fitting that the real wedding unfolds like something out of a dream. After nearly two decades together, Lynette and Ryan celebrated their “I do’s” surrounded by loved ones from across the Caribbean, the United States and Canada – transforming Ontario’s Links of Kent Golf and Event Centre into a scene of romantic, pastel-hued perfection.

A destination celebration close to home
The couple chose Chatham-Kent for its countryside charm and close connection to Ryan’s hometown – and the setting proved flawless for their destination celebration. With over 130 guests, including more than 75 who travelled 2,200 miles from eight Caribbean islands, the weekend was as heartfelt as it was elegant. From the welcome brunch to sunset cocktails on Lake Morningstar, every moment brimmed with love, laughter and that effortless island warmth.
Pastel perfection in full bloom
Under the summer sun, the ceremony unfolded outdoors, framed by lush clusters of pink roses, blue hydrangeas, white peonies and purple delphiniums. The pastel blooms lined the aisle and filled towering vases, creating a whimsical garden effect that glowed against the late-afternoon light.
When Lynette walked down the aisle in her breathtaking La Premiere Couture gown – an off-the-shoulder masterpiece adorned with intricate beadwork and lace appliqués – every guest fell silent. Her long veil trailed behind her like soft mist, and her bouquet mirrored the romance of the setting: airy, colourful and overflowing with florals that felt freshly gathered from a fairytale.

A celebration filled with colour and joy
Ryan looked every bit the modern gentleman in a custom three-piece electric blue suit from Suitsupply Miami, accented with a bold orange tie that brought a playful pop of personality to the palette. Together, they struck a perfect balance of classic elegance and joyful colour.
Following the ceremony, guests gathered inside the elegant reception space, where the pastel theme continued through lush centrepieces, candlelight and soft drapery. The atmosphere was pure magic – a blend of Caribbean energy and refined Canadian charm.
The newlyweds shared their first dance before the floor burst to life under the expert hands of DJ Dre, who flew in from the BVI to keep the celebration going with a mix of island beats and old-school favourites.

A love that travels miles
As the night unfolded with toasts, laughter and endless dancing, one thing was clear: Lynette and Ryan’s wedding wasn’t just a union of two people – it was the merging of worlds, families and lifelong friendships and a celebration of love that travelled thousands of miles to find its perfect moment in Ontario’s golden summer light.
