Erin Tuckey & Reid Finbow
A small wedding was always the plan for this couple. Here’s what the bride, Erin, had to say about the big day.
Tell us about your love story: We met at a bar on St Patrick’s Day in 2011 while we were both attending the University of Guelph and have been together ever since. We’ve been there for each other for some of the best and hardest moments of our lives. After 9 years, we decided together to get married over pints at a pub in London, UK, where we were living at the time – very appropriate since we met at a bar!
What were your original plans for your wedding day? Something bigger? We actually always wanted something small and intimate, so we didn’t have to alter our plans too much! We had about 40 guests, all of them close family and friends. It was perfect.
What was your favourite part of the day? Our favourite part of the day was definitely being with all of our loved ones, especially since we hadn’t seen everyone for so long! It was our wedding, but it also felt like a big reunion, which was so special.
What advice can you give to couples planning a wedding? Go with your gut, and stay true to who you are as a couple. Lots of people will tell you what you should or shouldn’t do, but always make decisions that feel right to you!
