Every couple wants to make their wedding unique and original, which can be a tough task. To plan
a memorable wedding, get your creative juices flowing. To start, look for ideas and images in books
and magazines, and then add your own twist.
Ceremony decor
Often, couples focus their attention on the reception, but there is room to get creative with the ceremony as well. You don’t have to stick with the same old routine. Instead of pew bows or ribbons, integrate floral arrangements. Candles can create a romantic setting, even during daytime ceremonies. If the location allows, use a personalized runner on the aisle.
Accessorize the kids
If you have a flowergirl or ring bearer, get cute with their outfits. Little girls in angel wings, crowns, princess dresses or even tuxedos can be adorable. For the boys, a suit never misses, but allow him to ride his bike down the aisle or maybe have him pulled in a wagon.
Reception details
There is always room for creativity at the reception. For example, skip the bottles of beer and serve a signature cocktail that shows off your personality. Maybe something hot and spicy, or perhaps sweet and simple. Ask your venue if frozen drinks or special shots can be served, rather than the standard liquors.
Liven up placesettings with flowers, candles, candy, wrapped bombonieres, photos or placecards. Find examples of each and combine the ideas to reflect your personal taste.
If children are attending the wedding, make their tables kid-friendly. Design a personal activity book on your computer, print out copies and place them on the tables. Add some crayons to keep little ones busy.
