Tracy and Andrew both attended Queen’s University. One night they ran into each other at an event. Andrew introduced himself to Tracy and they spent the rest of the night talking. The rest was history!
Tracy had left to visit her home city of Dubai, the first week of August in 2012. Shortly after Tracy left Toronto, Andrew worked with her family in Dubai to plan a surprise visit himself. Andrew took a flight to Dubai, stayed overnight at the hotel in the Burji Khalifa, and the next morning was picked up by Tracy’s family and made his way to the observation deck at the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest free-standing structure. Meanwhile, Tracy’s cousin took Tracy to what she thought was an office party at the Burj Khalifa. When Tracy walked through the doors she quickly displayed a look of confusion then excitement. As tourists looked on, Andrew got down on one knee and proposed to his love.
The couple’s favourite wedding moment was their wonderful ceremony at St. Basil’s with father Chris. “It was so special because we got to see lots of old friends and family who are living across the world,” says Tracy.
As for the couple’s favourite wedding detail? That’s an easy one. “Our band was amazing – The Digs (which we found at the Drake Hotel) made sure our guests had a great time,” says Andrew.
