It was love at first flight when Maggie and Arthur Lee tied the knot before 250 friends and family in Vancouver at the UBC Rose Garden. A reception followed at Kirin Chinese Restaurant.
Maggie and Arthur, both from Vancouver, met on a flight to Toronto. Arthur was originally sitting in a different row but fate stepped in. He switched seats to allow a lady to sit with her daughter and ended up sitting next to Maggie.
“We started talking and, by the time we landed, were both completely smitten,” says Maggie. Arthur proposed on their favourite beach on their six-year anniversary.
The couple chose a wedding theme and colours that combined Parisian vintage with traditional Chinese elements and included reds, ivory, pinks and golds.
Maggie says their favourite wedding moment, their first dance, “felt like we were all alone in the room surrounded by a bubble of people we loved.” She adds, “We asked everyone to blow bubbles throughout our first dance. It was the moment when it really sank in that I am going to be spending the rest of my life with this man. Lucky me!”
