Julia Soye & Daniel Cipollone
After 10 years together, this couple said I do in a stunningly elegant celebration. Julia walks us through the day, below.
Tell us a bit about your love story:
Daniel and I met close to 10 years ago, introduced by one of my close friends who happens to also be Daniel’s sister. We quickly fell in love and spent 10 years raising our puppy Finn (who stole the show on our big day), starting our careers, travelling the world and building our lives together. Daniel proposed on Valentine’s Day in 2020, after a dinner at our favourite restaurant, Piano Piano, at our home. As you can likely imagine, Finn was involved. We had so many amazing moments in the last 10 years and can’t wait to see what our future holds.
Did you have to change your original wedding plans?
We always planned for a September 4, 2021 wedding, and thankfully luck was on our side and we never had to reschedule. We did originally intend on a larger guest list. We were engaged prior to the pandemic and with two large families, we expected a much bigger wedding. However, we could not have been happier with the smaller, more intimate affair. We loved every moment of the day and wouldn’t change anything.
What was your favourite part of the day?
Everything about the day was perfect. It is hard to pick a favourite, but what we remember clearest is the amount of love we felt throughout the day from our friends and family. It is a feeling we will never forget.
Favourite wedding detail?
The stunning venue; Graydon Hall is the most beautiful and magical place.
What will guests remember most?
For a lot of our guests, ours was the first event they attended in almost 18 months. Although the venue was unforgettable, the food was delicious and the décor was beautiful, I think guests will remember how nice it was to celebrate with friends and family again. It finally felt normal!
What advice can you give to couples during the wedding planning process?
Enjoy the planning process and remember it’s your day! Try to take in every moment, the day goes by quickly, but remember the memories and the commitment you make lasts forever.
