Justina & Addison
Haiku Mill, located in Maui, Hawaii, set the breathtaking scene for this destination wedding. With 15 sets of eyes upon them, the bride (in an Alena Leena gown) and groom (in an Atelier Munro suit) said, “I do” in one of the most unique venues in the world.
Post-COVID planning: “Since we weren’t entirely sure whether we would be able to get married because of the pandemic, we made the majority of the decisions within three months of the wedding date,” says Justina. “It was pretty stressful not being able to feel, touch or taste what we were choosing but at the same time, it wouldn’t matter if the décor or food sucked – because we would have been one of the lucky few to get married.”
The perfect spot: Justina says her favourite thing about the wedding was the beautiful venue itself. “The experience is surreal. We were also blessed with a light spritz of rain during the ceremony – it was as if my grandma was telling me she was watching over me that day. The venue speaks volumes and doesn’t need much décor; it alone is an experience unlike any other.”
Advice from the bride: “Try to make it into a family/friend vacation, but also take time for you and your partner. We spent one week in Maui with friends and family, and then we parted ways for a mini honeymoon.”
