Hammer time: The couple paid homage to Hamilton (The Hammer) in a few ways. “We love Hamilton,” says the bride. “We tried to incorporate local vendors into our day. We had our favourite doughnuts from Donut Monster for dessert and gave out Dawson’s Hot Sauce as favours.” The couple also left goodie bags of local treats in the hotel rooms of out-of-town guests.
Back-up plans: The couple planned to share their “first looks” at an outdoor location, but the rain had other ideas. A quick change to an indoor venue left Alex and Yoan happy that they arranged a plan B!
Planning advice: Alex says, “If you can afford it, hire a wedding planner. Having the extra eyes, ears and experience to bounce ideas off and to keep your day running smoothly is invaluable.”
The honeymoon: Yoan was working in California the year before the wedding. Alex flew out to meet him and they drove along the coast, and then spent a couple of weeks in Fiji. “It was lovely to unplug and spend some quality time together,” says Alex.
