Jordan and Elisa went to the same elementary school, high school and grew up within five minutes from each other. The two had a many mutual friends, but it wasn’t until they reconnected at a party in March 2012 that the sparks began to fly. They were inseparable from that day on, and in July of 2013, Jordan proposed on a quiet evening at home.
“The proposal was very intimate and emotional,” says Elisa. “We took our time in planning our wedding and really wanted to enjoy our engagement. It was well worth the 2 year wait — we love married life!”
Although it was very hard to choose just one favourite moment, Elisa can definitely say that saying their vows during the ceremony was very special to both bride and groom. “Looking back at it now, I don’t think I have ever felt so loved than that exact moment; hand in hand, promising each other a lifetime of togetherness, understanding and unconditional love,” says the bride.
The couple also took a minute during the reception to take a look around at all of their guests, to really absorb the moment. “It was overwhelming to see such a presence of love in the room, and we feel so grateful that we were able to be surrounded by those closest to us,” says Elisa.
As for the couple’s favourite wedding detail, they wanted to do something a little different with regards to speeches. “We had the idea to do a pre-recorded video that began as an interview with our bridal party and families answering questions about us, and ended with each of them giving us a congratulatory message, which was played on a large screen for all of our guests to see,” says the bride. “It was unique, hilarious, and heart-warming and we received many compliments on it!”
