Amanda and Zachary met when the friends each was travelling with happened to connect in Rome and introduced them. Starting a relationship didn’t enter their minds because, back in Canada, they didn’t live in the same province. Then, after casually keeping in touch, they decided to meet again and soon they were in love. All went well until Zachary was deployed to Afghanistan and the next 14 months seemed like forever. Then, a year after his return to Canada, he proposed.
They began to plan their wedding and were immediately drawn to the Isaiah Tubbs Resort, where they exchanged vows before 100 guests. The reception, at the same resort, was in the O’Neil Pavillion. They planned a wedding that was full of surprises, from handpainted, funny signs to having their guests sign a globe of the world “because love makes the world go round.” The theme was so , rustic, beach, all in pastel colours.
Amanda says that the most emotional moment on her wedding day was being escorted down the aisle by her father, with Zachary waiting for her at the alter. Zachary says, “At that moment, I couldn’t take my eyes off her. I was hypnotized.”
