The theme, Marie Antoinette’s Versailles garden, included thousands of flowers, unique desserts and one happy couple.
How they met: Jenna and Nick’s relationship began like the plot of a movie. Over the course of three days, the two bumped into each other at social events three separate times. There were immediate sparks, but Nick didn’t make his move until day three. The pair spent hours talking at a party, but then Jenna jumped into a cab to leave. Nick asked for her number, to which Jenna replied, “If you really want it, you will find it,” and the taxi drove off. Moments later her phone buzzed with a text from Nick: “Hey, you.”
The venue: Both the ceremony and reception took place at the family home in Collingwood. Jenna says, “My grandfather built the home on the water for all my cousins and myself. So it holds a very sentimental place in all our hearts.”
The bride’s favourite part of the day: Jenna says the best part was “Getting to put on my custom Ines Di Santo wedding dress (with help from Ines, herself!) and walking down the aisle to see Nick waiting there for me. With the backdrop of the water and hearing the waves softly crash against the beach as we said our vows…it was very romantic.”
The carousel: “I really wanted to inspire our guests with this fun and romantic vibe as that’s the essence of mine and Nick’s relationship; playful and sweet,” says Jenna. “As the guests left the ceremony portion of the tent, they entered the cocktail tent where the carousel sat in the centre of the room. The challenge was getting a carousel to fit inside our tent! Our guests could step up on the carousel throughout the wedding to have their picture taken. It really was the essence of sweet romance.”
Advice to couples: Jenna says, “Don’t fight with each other during planning. It really is such a special process and goes by so quickly. Try to embrace and love every moment.”
