Katie and Dustin met while working together at Cossette Communications, an advertising agency in Toronto. After five years of dating and travelling to 12 countries together, Dustin surprised Katie with a trip to Capri, Italy in August 2012, where he proposed overlooking the Mediterranean.
The couple had a picture perfect wedding at the Art Gallery of Ontario in Toronto on September 7, 2013. Their 185 guests were treated to a very personalized affair.
On the invitation RSVP, they asked each guest to write seven words describing the couple – these words were incorporated into the design of the dance floor. The bride and groom each choose a signature drink: hers, a dark and stormy, and his, a mint julep. Each table was named after a destination and included a description of why it was important in their lives. The groom’s mother created the beautiful wedding cake and the bride’s bouquet paid homage to her mother’s. Later in the evening, guests were handed glow sticks and glow rings and treated to ‘bottle service’ in the lounge areas to encourage the party to last into the wee hours.
