Rupal and Ani were married before 300 guests at the Embassy Grand Convention Centre in Brampton, Ont., with a reception at the same venue.
The couple met through Ani’s sister – and it was love at first sight. However, the day after that first meeting, Ani moved to Chicago and they maintained a long-distance relationship for six years.
Ani proposed one cold February afternoon after a citywide treasure hunt in downtown Toronto. “He found the perfect spot where the sun set over the CN Tower, got down on one knee and swept me away,” says Rupal.
Rupal says that her favourite moment was seeing Ani’s face for the first time at the mandap (altar). She says, “Despite there being 300 people watching, I felt as though it was just Ani and me – the only two that mattered.”
There was attention paid to all the wedding details – especially the altar. The acrylic mandap had gerbera daisies in teardrop glass bulbs hanging from the top. The water-effect was repeated in their reception décor with water poles and the structured wall. Rupal adds that their photographer Steve made their wedding all the more special by capturing the beauty and love surrounding the couple on their big day.
